Advance Polling Locations

In March 2012 the Parliamentary Elections Act was amended to enable the Parliamentary Commissioner to appoint Revising Officers and to conduct advanced poll voting at various Bahamian embassies, high commissions, and foreign missions overseas. The Parliamentary Commissioner utilized several foreign missions during 2012 General Election, namely:

  • Washington, D.C. (USA)
  • Cuba
  • Haiti
  • Ottawa, Canada
  • London, UK

All Overseas Offices

  • Kingston, Jamaica
  • Port of Spain
  • Trinidad
  • Bridgetown, Barbados

OVERSEAS POLLING PLACES FOR THE ADVANCED POLL ON WEDNESDAY, 3rd MAY, 2017

The Parliamentary Commissioner hereby informs the general public that, pursuant to section 49B of the Parliamentary Elections Act (Chapter 7), the places listed below have been established as polling places outside of The Bahamas to facilitate polling by voters enrolled as overseas voters for the day appointed for the Advanced Poll on Wednesday, 3rd May, 2017, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (local time).



All overseas voters who have completed and submitted the prescribed Form J to the Parliamentary Commissioner on or before Friday, 21st day of April, 2017 are entitled to vote in the Advanced Poll on Wednesday, 3rd May, 2017.

Are advised to report to their assigned polling place in advance of the start of pre-polling process, which begins at 7:30 am.

*Note that the time specified in the Act for the start of the pre-polling process is strictly adhered to. It is each candidate’s responsibility to ensure their agents are in place at the given time. Failure to do so will result in the process beginning without them.
